Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a nation-wide movement to create an enduring and trusting patient-physican relationship. It is an affordable membership based model that strives to provide value to the patient.

Direct Primary Care vs. Insurance Model
We do not bill the insurance for physician services and our fees are transparent. Insurance companies do not cover many services offered by direct primary care. We value care for the patient and not volume.
Direct Primary Care vs. Concierge Medicine
Direct primary care and concierge care are not synonymous. In concierge practices, the patient typically pays a high retainer fee in addition to insurance premiums and other plan obligations (e.g., copays, out-of-pocket expenditures), and the practice continues to bill the patient’s insurance carrier.

NY State law requires a mandatory $35 fee per office visit if you need to come in, which includes:
- Urinalysis
- Pulse oximetry
- Lab draw
- Sick Visits
- Vitamin B12 Shot
- TB/PPD screening
- Ear wax removal
- Suture/staple removal
- Rapid Strep Tests
- Rapid Flu Tests
- Rapid COVID-19 antigen Tests
- Annual Flu Vaccination
- Pregnancy Test
- Travel Advice
- Preconception Advice
- Lab coordination
- Local pharmacy coordination

We are NOT insurance and it is advised to have insurance to cover:
- Outside lab fees to Quest, Labcorp, Bioreference, etc
- Radiology and imaging, i.e x-rays, mammograms, MRI, CT scan and ultrasounds
- Medications, non-flu vaccinations
- Surgeries, ER visits, urgent care visits, specialist visits
- Dr. Timothy Johnson is a gastroenterology specialist at the same location and is NOT under the Direct Primary Care Model
